Postgraduate Qualifying Program – a more accessible option towards a graduate degree at Southern Cross University

International students who wish to pursue a Master’s degree at Southern Cross University’s  Sydney, Perth and Melbourne campuses but do not meet entry requirements can now enrol in the Postgraduate Qualifying Program (PQP), a new program that serves as a pathway to a graduate degree.

The PQP has been designed to develop international students’ study skills to meet the requirements for entry to a Master’s level. Thus, students with a slightly lower IELTS can still gain access to Southern Cross University’s Master’s programs. Moreover, they get to study with other international students in any of the three campuses and adjust quickly to the Australian higher education environment.

According to Ben McCully, SVP for Southern Cross University Partnerships, those who complete the PQP also pass the academic and English language entry requirements for the Master’s degree programs.

The courses being offered in the three branch campuses under the PQP along with the corresponding schedules include the following:

March, July, November

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Master of Professional Accounting (MPA)

Southern Cross University, a public university voted by the Times Higher Education in the Top 150 under 50, has been ranked number one in Australia for international student support by the International Student Barometer (ISB), the global benchmark for demonstrating excellence in the international student experience.  Southern Cross University’s branch campuses in Sydney, Perth and Melbourne have small class sizes (under 30 students) which increase the chances for quality interactions with lecturers.
